Creative Writing Task 3

When I was a child, I well remember breaking a glass. I was just holding it when it slipped out of my palm like it had a mind of its own. I stared in horror and waited an eternity for the sound of shattering glass. “Ping!” My mother hurried over, mouth in a big circle. Seeing my sheepish face and the pieces of glass, she quickly put two and two together and gave me a good dressing down. “Off to bed you go!” she finished. I went down on my hands and knees and begged her to have mercy on me, but to no avail.
I dragged my feet grudgingly to my brightly-painted room, which reflected the exact opposite of what I was feeling. Slowly turning on the fan to kill time, I slumped into bed bitterly. Hearing high-pitched chatter, laughter and the light pattering of footsteps, my blood started boiling. Staring at the bright sunshine, I steamed and, exhausted, blacked out.
Hours later, the golden light had turned into blackness. Hearing a soft rustling from under the bed, I fled in terror to the other side of the bed. Creeping slowly towards the “visitor”, I peered down, only to see two green eyes blinking back at me.
The next morning, I sat in bed, blurry-eyes, wondering about who or what had come the previous night. Dua to my ignorance, I could not, for my life, figure out what he, she or it was.

When I was a child, I well remember breaking my friend's tooth. I was in kindergarten, probably having P.E. A few days before that I watched a Kung fu movie, and imitated it in school. I spun around and kicked upwards. To my horror, my friend shrieked in pain. I instantly felt uneasy, seeing blood spilling out of her mouth. I felt guilty. Her tooth broke. The teachers immediately went to her to inspect, prying her fingers off her lips. I was forced to sit on a chair to wait for the teachers to come to me, and access the situation. I apologised, and no punishment was given. Thank God!

That night, I felt terribly sorry. The eerie dark room of mine was filled with a dim glow of light from the corridor lights outside. I felt reluctant to lie on my bed. I felt so uneasy; I could not close my eyes. The incident kept replaying in my head. I still managed to sleep, though.

I woke up halfway through the night, the room eerily silent, and I felt a non-existent presence beside me. Was it her? Did she come back for revenge? I felt more guilty, with my heart pounding, I turned over and closed my eyes, to force myself to continue sleeping, so I would forget the incident.

The next morning, the Sun was bright, the sky blue. I wondered about the previous night. It was not that scary after all. All I did was to stop myself from imagining things. I told what happened in school to my parents again.

When I was a child, I well remember playing with my little ball I always kicked and threw around. However, there was this one time, when there was a little accident. I had become too engrossed in my own little game. With a tiny kick, the ball flew across the living room and knocked down a photo frame which was neatly placed on the counter. My parents were furious and immediately yelled at me to go to my room. I broke into tears and cried out in protest, refusing to go into my room. However, my parents forced me into my room anyway. I was furious at my parents. I very slowly took one step at a time towards my bed, trying to waste as much time as possible. The room that I shared with my sister was small, pink with little princess decorations around the room. I sighed with sadness, and I slowly sank to sleep. When I woke, the room was pitch dark. Being terrified of the dark, I stayed still with fear. My hands felt something furry and soft. That made my pounding heart settle down and relax. Slowly and slowly again, I drifted back to sleep. The next morning, I wondered about my mystery guest last night. I wondered who or what that was which sat through with me in my scariest and darkest night. I might never know.

Creative Writing Task 3

When I was a child, I well remember; it was middle of the day. My father had gone to work. My mother was fast asleep, tired from doing the house chores. I crawled to the kitchen, totally bored. I was very hungry, I opened the drawers, barely able to stand up with my baby soft legs and developing backbone. I reached into the drawer which was higher than me I could feel a plastic package. I took it out but I was not able to put it on the floor. I lose control. 'BOM!' The packet of floor smashed onto the floor. The packet tore and all the flour spilled onto the floor. I made a mess! My mother came running to the kitchen upon hearing the loud sound she instructed me to go to bed even after me begging to her.

I slowly undressed,  killing time. I dreaded and regretted the action I did. It is so cruel of my mother to keep an active young child like me to go to bed as early as 1.30pm!

I woke up! Dark! It was pitch dark! I was barely able to see anything, but I could feel it was a woman. She touched me, but I did not know with what. It was ticklish and warm. Soon I dozed off.

The next morning, I woke up. I could remember every single thing that happened to me last night. But I did not know who or what it was. Till today, it has remained as a mystery.

Creative Writing Task 2

The clock in the church liked 12 midnight when I was enjoying the silence in the park which was near the church. Suddenly, I felt suspicious and creepy. Something rubbed against my back. 'It is the wind! Stop imagining things!" I said to myself then started to walk home.

While walking on the road all alone in the dark, I could hear a faint crying sound of a woman.I stopped and scanned my surroundings. I noticed nothing. I took my phone and scanned the surroundings again with my camera phone. Now! Now, I witnessed a thick fog through the camera lens of my phone. I noticed that it bounced on to me and bounced off. My forehead already started sweating.

I quickened my steps but still holding my phone which is now used as a scanner to scan for any unusual stuff. Even though there was no more fog around, I could hear the faint crying sound becoming a loud crying sound. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. I could hear my heart pounding. At last, I took refuge in a backyard of a private house. I could feel tears brimming in my eyes.

And wished, I had listened to his friends who had warned him. Never go walking on the road after dark.

Earliest Memories

My brother was admiring himself in the mirror. Probably,  proud that he got his new year T-shirt. His eyes were gleaming with pride, his hands adjusting his shirt and his stiff hair. His face had a child-like glee.

A place where I always wanted to play. Even though I could not there all the time, my heart always yearns to be there. The corridor outside my house but in India. I did not need toys and objects to place with sand but just friends.

My sofa which was with me since the day I shifted to a house in Singapore. It has been always with me and will be with me forever. It was with my when I played, laughed, talked, cried, slept, ate, studied and more. Even though is also my age, it takes good care of me and is beside me all the time. I love my sofa. It is not only a sofa but also a soulmate.
