What I did:
I went to National Geographic’s official site to see if there was any interesting news. And this was what I found. This news was found at the top of the page thus I thought that it was interesting and thus read it. I found many interesting facts and the debates written in the page was good. It contains some evidence and a sense of mystery of who had done these structures. I noted down a few key points after I read the article.

Stalagmites: A mineral deposit of calcium carbonate, in shapes similar to icicles, that lie on the ground of a cave.
Enigma: Something or someone puzzling, mysterious or inexplicable.
Subterranean: Below ground, under the earth, underground
Key Points:
Although the experts cannot confirm whether it is built by humans or the bears, I can see how experts debate amongst themselves and how they say their point and give evidence to support them and make the points sound convincing. After reading the article, I feel that the ancient humans are very smart and capable as they do not have modern technology and still could build such magnificent structures.

What I did:
I was eating mangosteen today when I wondered why mangosteens are so delicious and how could this delicious fruit travel to other countries. Thus I went to National geographic website to see if I could find any articles related to this subject. Sure enough, I found one. After that, I wrote down the answers to my question and some extra information on mangosteens.
What I learnt:

Envisioning: To conceive or see something within one's mind. To imagine.
Lucrative: Producing a surplus; profitable.
Key Points:
I learnt that mangosteens are delicious because of its wonderful combination of the taste of lychee, peach, strawberry and pineapple flavours. Mangosteens are hard to be transported because it could be easily spoilt and people would not want to buy spoilt fruits. Mangosteens also take decades just to produce mangosteens too thus not many farmers would want to plant this amazing fruit. Even though mangosteens are that valuable, the price cannot be too high as people may not want to buy it because it only has very less flesh and the fruit cannot be kept too long.

Coalitions: A temporary group or union of organizations, usually formed for a particular advantage.
Key Points:
The hyenas do not seem as bad as the myths describe it to be when it is compared to the truth. Hyenas are actually skilled predators and are smart. They can also kill and they are opportunistic eaters. They are also brave and are neither dogs nor cats, they are under a group called hyaenidae.

What I did:
I wanted to read more on global warming and how is the environmental changing and so I googled and found this article which I trusted. I also wrote down the key takeaways after I read this article.
What I learnt:

Meteorology: Of or pertaining to meteorology.
Intricacies: That which is intricate or involved; as, the intricacy of a knot; the intricacy of accounts; the intricacy of a cause in controversy; the intricacy of a plot.
Zealotry: Something characteristic of a zealot; excessive zeal; fanaticism.
Key Points:
Only certain technologies are helping to save the environment while others are not. Some solution to climate changes are from technologies such as renewables, nuclear, carbon sequestration, public transport and energy conservation. Geo-engineering may be part of these technologies that help save the environment, even though it can be risky, but it is worth researching on.

Fluctuating: To vary irregularly; to swing.
Geothermal: Pertaining to heat energy extracted from reservoirs in the earth's interior
Crux: The basic, central, or essential point or feature.
Feasible: That can be done in practice.
Key Points:
We could actually rely on renewable energy to save the earth. But for now, the major source of power comes from the burning of fossil fuels. The burning of fossil fuels releases harmful greenhouse gases in which affects the environment. We could use hydroelectricity to fuel our homes too. Wind and solar are not much of a good choice as it does not produce as much electricity as compared to water.
